OPEN SEVEN DAYS A WEEK

The love of my life has always been horses and cattle. I went to Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo to pursue that interest, but life is unpredictable. While still very interested in ranching and that way of life, I went to work for CAL FIRE and ended up retiring from fire-fighting after thirty-one years. I also kept a small farm, raising cattle, horses and chickens. Ranching has always been part of who I am. First there was 4-H, then FFA, and then Humboldt County Cattlewomen.

As much as I loved ranching, art was pulling at me but, I was not able to explore it until after retiring from fighting fires and downsizing my ranching responsibilities. I credit the help of local teachers through the Redwood Art Association and networking with my artist friends for helping me develop my skills. My paintings are representational and my inspiration comes from all over the county. I sometimes paint with the Sunday Paint-Out Group, a collection of varied artists who practice plein-air painting every week. My preferred medium is oil and I'm always accepting commissions. My favorite subjects are animals, oceans, and ranching scenes. (707) 496-8149.
