OPEN SEVEN DAYS A WEEK

Lorna Saner

I started fusing glass about 6 years ago. My husband and I took a fused glass jewelry class at Fire Arts in Arcata. I asked for a lot of help. My husband was a natural. I joined Fire Arts even before I had glass to work with. I have learned by watching YouTube videos and by trial and error. My current vertical art pieces I learned by taking a 4 day workshop in Florida taught by Lisa Vogt.

My work is "one and done," except with I make night lights or magnets. I love color, but have noticed some buyers prefer amber, gray and more neutral shades.

Generally I do not do commission work, but I am currently making 100 birds for purse zipper pulls. They are 1-1/2 inch high. Kind of crazy.

I buy "special production" glass whenever possible. It is special because it is made in limited quantity.

My other creations are fiber related. I knit nightly and quilt when I can.

During COVID I started working in polymer clay, and the turtles were born. 20 and done.
