David has had a lifelong interest in photography, with a special emphasis on landscape and wildlife subject matter. Much of his work depicts scenes in the national and state parks, as well as in Humboldt County and in central Oregon, where he and his wife, Janet, maintain a vacation home on the Deschutes River.
Serving four years in the Navy during the Vietnam War, David was the ship’s cruise book photographer for the U.S.S. Richard B. Anderson DD786 and the U.S.S. Buchanan DDG14. After leaving the Navy, he moved to Humboldt County and took photography classes at College of the Redwoods
.Currently he enjoys having some of his work printed on metal, which provides for a modern display that requires no frame. He also believes that the metal format enhances the color and luminosity of his photographs.
